One of the precious peaces of ocean kept fairly untouched sits off the Sumatran coast in between Nias and Mentawaii Islands. Like their neighboring islands, the Telo or Batu archipelago is blessed by swell consistency year round, wide variety of world class spots and magnificent beauty both in and out of the water. Being most coral reefs alive, wildlife is really abundant and the under water world open for exploration.
During our time in Telos we will not only develop your technique on the surfboard and riding waves, but also your aquatic skills, which will include the way you move in the water and your ability to read and understand the ocean. Before you paddle out we will both observe the ocean together and define technical drills you can work with during your session while our coaches assist you in reaching the goal in the water. After your surfs, we will analyze your videos and break down the next steps on your progression line .
We will also use the amazing water environment around us to build up skills in open water swimming, bodysurfing, free driving and breath holding, all this with a mask on so we can experience the coral reefs and marine life. Our yoga expert will teach you the best way to strengthen and stretch the main muscle groups used in surfing and you will get specific exercises you can do at home to make surf movements available to your body. At the end of the trip you will get all your videos with feedback and you will have a follow up session with us to track your progress when you are back home.

EPIC WAVES FOR ALL LEVELSMost surf spots in the Telos are long, open, predictable shoulders, just a touch mellower and a lot less busy than most spots in Mentawaiis. There is plenty of both lefts and rights and all abilities catered for. This means you will have lots of opportunities to try to get those barrels and you will also easily find a pause on the pumping adrenaline and cruise on one of the long open easy rides working on your top to bottom carving game on constant opportunities for repetitions.

COACHINGThere is a formula to every spot, a special way the wave breaks, a unique flow in which the water moves around, a very specific technique to draw the line, drive your board and and tap into a powerful ride full of harmony with the wave. There is more than surfing in surfing, the way you move in the water, a comfort that comes from aquatic capabilities, becoming the fish; one with the water. That for us is where real flow comes from.

During this journey you will not only be surfing perfect open walls, which will allow you to practice your surfing while being videoed and assigned a roadmap for technical progression, but you will also be training your water movement game without the board and evolving skills in open water swimming, bodysurfing, diving, water safety, reading the water through guided observations and understanding the ocean with basic oceanography.

Your part is to make sure you land in Padang, Sumatra. From there we take over. A private you will be picked, transferred to your charter flight which will take you to the island and again be welcomed in the airport to take you to the resort. You will be given an amazingly comfortable room, our guides will take you to the best waves on one of the resorts boats, provide with water equipment if you don’t have your own, you will have access to the pool and all resort amenities like cold plunge and much more, we will treat your body with massage and of course offer an electric combination of Western and Indonesian cuisine that will blow your mind.
